Costs

According to § 34 Abs. 1 RVG costs of 226.10 Euro (190.00 Euro + 36.10 USt.) are to be paid for the first consultation.

In accordance with the possibility provided in § 34 (2) RVG, the costs of the initial consultation are generally deducted from the total fee for a follow-up activity relating to the same subject.

If, for financial reasons, you are unable to pay the lawyer's fees by yourself:

1.    First consultation or extrajudicial activity (i.e. the matter is not yet at the judicial stage):

You can apply for counselling at the legal application office of the local court of your place of residence. For this purpose, you must bring a valid identity card or passport, proof of the matter (e.g. notice from the authority, correspondence with the other party) and proof of your financial situation (account statements of at least the last 3 months, wage statements, social welfare notice, pension notice, etc.). If your application is approved, you will receive the counselling aid certificate immediately. In this case, you only have to pay your own contribution of 15.00 euros in the law firm.

2.    Judicial activity:

For this area, it is possible to apply for legal aid at the court where the case is going to be heard. The court then checks whether the prosecution has a good chance of success, does not appear deliberate and whether the economic conditions are met.
